I was fortunate in being introduced to Sarah, The Ear Lady by a neighborhood friend who spoke very highly of her. I’m usually cautious and sceptical about commercially-positioned (i.e. with the exception of equivalent  hospital / confirmed medical practitioner) audiology and hearing-aid  practices and practitioners. These entities all too frequently over-egg the commercial aspects of the business, seeking payment well in excess of true commercial value; and / or they employ practitioners who clearly are not sufficiently professionally skilled nor qualified in the field!

Sarah proves to be a courteous, communicative  and experienced audiologist, whose professional knowledge, stretching from anatomical expertise to technical and electronic insight and understanding, is second to none. Her determination appropriately to analyse and diagnose the relevant shortfalls in one’s hearing is impressive and, I found, successful. Her objectives of determining the shortfall, identifying the best-case corrective equipment and, most important of all, being able to procure the best-case models and setting and adjusting it to perfection are outstanding, and constitute a very welcome ability in comparison with the average unconvincing products and practitioners in the commercial market-place.

I also found Sarah’s administrative and equipment resources excellent and comforting. Appointments are well arranged and involve no waiting; the consulting area and facilities are amenable and reassuring; the technical means of testing, recording and equipping one appropriately and precisely are all infinitely trustworthy and reflect considerable experience. I found the testing and trialling stages to be important and skilfully conducted, with clear and detailed explanations accompanying every stage and outcome. This is in considerable contrast to High-Street and even hospital equivalents, where preparatory and explanatory steps are taken at speed and without respect nor sensitivity in evidence as far as patient expectations and satisfaction are concerned.
